Last night the Meydan Sofrasi restaurant on Barking Road excitedly tweeted that
THE MAYOR OF NEWHAM, SIR ROBIN WALES visited our restaurant today.
As you can see from the accompanying picture, the mayor was taking refreshment with some of his nearest and dearest.
Fellow diners included councillors Unmesh Desai, Andrew Baikie, the Corbetts, Lester Hudson and, er, Ahmed Noor.
That’s the same Ahmed Noor who broke the council’s rules on landlord licensing, who’s currently suspended from the Labour party and who was accused by the standards committee of abusing his power to stifle complaints against him from tenants. The report to the standards committee about his conduct makes for hair-raising reading.
With councillor re-selections coming up in the autumn, is this a sign that the disgraced Noor may make a comeback? Even by Newham standards that would leave a nasty taste in the mouth.

This beggars belief .if this is real and not photo shopped it means that ken clark is weaker than i thought ,noor ahmed is still suspended from the party and only supported i gather by ian corbett .was i dreaming or did clark have him removed from the party and the park a couple of years ago .was it for impersonating a councillor before being elected and then ignoring all the rules about being a rogue landlord and sticking it to newham .if ken clark is wales deputy mayor and main advisor why is wales even seen in this mans company .this is a story for the party and the national newspapers surely .this is why people like noor dont get prosecuted like the rest of the landlords they are obviously protected by what looks from the outside as enemies of each other .i thought sir robin had some principles and cared about the borough and its people this picture if it is real tells another story .
This a table of full of the culprits who have sold Newham down the drain, the sheriff of Newham and his merry men who are taxing Newham to death. Here’s a guy who ignores his own constitution and party rules and here’s the proof.
If you are a council officer and female, the morale of the story in Newham Council is get in bed with Wales and a promotion is guaranteed.
Pity we can’t say the same about Hudson but what poor person would want to wake and see Hudson in the morning.
What are you saying, this goes on in the council, l heard a rumour that Wales has surgery on his asshole to have all the togues removed.
